Thank you for helping me to remember what matters. I love bell hooks: "Patriarchy has no gender. We are all hurt by it. Feminism is not about hating men—it is about challenging a system that privileges domination, violence, and control over love, connection, and mutual respect." —
Dear Sil, Thank you so much for reading. I love that line from bell hooks. She is the boss. Missing you these days. Did you see The Tickle String and Forbidden? Might be my favorites so far—where is this coming from? Love you
Thank you for this post!! It's a 'keeper'- meaning that I am printing it up so I can refer to it again and again. You have such a talent for weaving the hard stuff with deep inspirational insights, so that I feel emboldened to face the challenges of my day, both inner and outer. I learn so much when I read your posts. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Much love!
Hi Sil, wow. Your words are powerful medicine, medicine that keeps me writing and researching and speaking and celebrating the women that have gone before us.
Women are amazing
Thank you so much for reading and sharing your words that you will print it out and post it. 💜🌹💜
This is wonderful! So many inspiring, thoughtful words from magnificent women, yourself included. Two thoughts: 1) what an exceptional household of interesting women! 🩵 2) Have you heard of extinction bursts? It gives me hope that the violent right-wing pushback we are currently experiencing is the last tantrum of this horrific colonialist, capitalist, patriarchy. 🤞🏼
Hi Jessi, thank you so much for reading. I had a blast putting it together. I found myself inspired, empowered and grateful for all the women who have gone before us. Women are so amazing. 🌹🧡💚
This is an amazing essay, with wonderful quotes and timelines. So much of your essay resonated with me. I love when you say, "Feminism cannot only serve middle and upper-class white women." It's true: feminism must serve all women -- even those who are marginalized.
A long time ago I was misguided into thinking that feminism was an anti-male sentiment. But now I know that this is not true. Women have made such a huge impact on the world, and they deserve to be treated as equal to men.
Hi Beth, thank you so much for reading and for commenting. I agree with you. I learn and learn so much each time I dive into a topic women are so amazing. Thank you.
Loved this Prajna! Especially the section on the primodial woman. Related to and felt every representation. She is more than archetypal, she is real, palpable, present, eternal! Pure existence as life! Passionate and alive, a beautiful reciprocity that is generated by her giving and receiving as the cycles themselves.
Loved all the quotes too! “The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.” That is so right on! And yeah to menstruation leave in Spain! Right on!
Thank you, Julie so much and thank you for taking the time to write about the pieces that stood out for you. It’s really good to know. I had a lot of fun putting this together. 💚🌹💚
Hi Stephanie. I almost missed this. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment. I appreciate you more than you can now. Humbled and happy. Talk soon, sister.
Seeing this late — but thanks for acknowledging IWD and for compiling/sharing your list!
Hi Julie,
Thank you so much for reading. I enjoyed putting the women resources together. I always appreciate women, everyday. 🌹
Maybe not shining floor but potentially when doing laundry. 🤔
I love this kind of saltiness.
Haha it just popped in my brain. 😁 but it wasn’t intended to be an angry remark. Just silly.
I receive it as silly and fun, not angry. Salty is sassy and fun, like me. Thank you.
Oh good. I guess it’s one of those words that have multiple meanings.
Just like the word orgasm, eh?
Thank you for reading, Leah. Excellent point. 😉

Take it with a grain of salt as the MSN writer did who warns against thinking we can assume what a demented criminal president would do.
Thank you Shalagh I will have a look at this soon.

A reader named Kat, who does not have the app. asked me to post this. I am humbled by her words:
